Rev. Dr. Robert A Winfree

Pastor- Founder

Robert Alfonza Winfree, born August 25, 1947, in South Richmond, is the first child of Cornelius and Dorothea Winfree. He is the proud father of six sons, two daughters, and many grandchildren.

Pastor Winfree is a graduate of Armstrong High School and Kittrell Junior College in North Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Delaware State College. He served for many years as an educator in the Richmond Public School System and later as a drug counselor with the City of Richmond Human Resources Department.

In 1985, Pastor Winfree accepted his call into ministry and attended the Virginia Union University School of Theology. He was also mentored by the Honorable Dr. Dwight C. Jones, pastor of First Baptist Church of South Richmond.

Reverend Winfree is the founder and pastor of New Life Deliverance Tabernacle (NLDT) and serves as Chair of the Board for the New Life Community Center in Richmond, Virginia. He is known as a compassionate teacher and preacher whose ministry focuses on spiritual growth, family strengthening, and community empowerment.

Under his leadership, NLDT hosts community initiatives such as Praise in the Park, food distributions, voter transportation, and educational partnerships with local schools. The ministry provides tutoring programs, free preschool, low-cost summer camps, mentoring for men and youth, and outreach services within South Richmond neighborhoods. Pastor Winfree’s vision remains centered on uplifting lives, strengthening communities, and developing leaders under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
